Most paint that looks “faded” isn't faded at all. It's covered in thousands of fine scratches — from automatic car washes, dirty towels, and years of grit — and those scratches scatter light instead of reflecting it. Polishing levels the clear coat so light comes back clean.
You'll notice it most in direct sun, which is exactly where swirls show worst. Dark cars show the biggest change; silver and white are more forgiving but still gain depth.
Every polish includes a proper hand wash and a wax on top, so the finish is protected when we leave. If you want protection that lasts years instead of months, see ceramic coating — polishing is the step that comes first.

It won't remove: deep scratches that catch your fingernail, chips down to primer, dents, or damage through the clear coat. Those need paint work, not polish. We'll tell you honestly which is which before we start — not after.
Clear coat is thin, and every polish removes a little of it. That's why we start with the least aggressive approach that gets the result. A car that's been machine-polished carelessly by someone else has less to work with, and we'll say so.

No, and anyone who promises that isn't being straight with you. Polishing removes scratches that sit in the clear coat — typically the fine swirls and haze that make paint look dull. If you can catch a scratch with your fingernail, it's too deep to polish out safely. We'll walk the car with you and tell you what will come out and what won't before any work starts.
Usually 3 to 5 hours depending on the size of the vehicle and how marked up the paint is. It's slower work than a detail — the machine has to pass over every panel.
Done properly, no. Polishing removes a very small amount of clear coat — far less than what's there. The risk comes from doing it too aggressively or too often. We use the least aggressive method that gets the result, and we don't polish a car that doesn't need it.
No. Polishing can be done outside as long as it isn't raining. Shade helps — direct sun on hot panels makes the work harder — but it isn't required.
They do different things. Polishing fixes what's already there; coating protects what you have going forward. If you want a coating, polishing should come first — otherwise you seal the swirls in for years.
The correction itself is permanent — those scratches are gone. How long it stays looking that way depends on how the car is washed. Brush washes will put the swirls right back within months. Hand washing keeps it.
